PSI’s Larry Lebofsky gives a meteorite sample to a young attendee at the Community STEM Expo.

A variety of meteorite samples were on display at PSI’s exhibit at the SARSEF Regional Science and Engineering Fair Community STEM Expo held at the DeMeester Outdoor Performance Center at Reid Park.

PSI’s Larry Lebofsky had meteorite samples from Mars, the Moon, and the giant asteroid Vesta. In addition, there were meteorites thought to come from the large asteroid Hebe. There were also large iron and rocky meteorites that attendees could hold and examine and compare to Earth rocks.

The event attracted more than 2,000 people and featured 30 exhibitors.
