Research Interests

Dr. David O'Brien works on planet formation and the evolution of the early Solar System, collisional and dynamical evolution of asteroids and small bodies, thermal modeling of geophysical phenomena, and icy satellite geophysics.

Professional History

Dr. O'Brien earned his Bachelors of Science in Engineering Physics from Cornell University in 1998. He then received his Ph.D. in Planetary Science at the University of Arizona in 2004. Before joining PSI in 2006, he was a Poincare Fellow at the Observatoire de la Cote d'Azur in Nice, France.
