Research Interests

 
Dr. Scott Mest is interested in planetary geology, geomorphology, remote sensing, the utilization of spacecraft and airborne remote sensing data for geologic analyses of planetary surfaces and processes, hydrologic modeling, surface modification, and the topographic change of planetary surfaces.
 

Professional History

Dr. Mest received his PhD in Geology in 2004 from the University of Pittsburgh. He was a National Research Council Postdoctoral Research Scientist and a Research Scientist in the NASA Postdoctoral Program at NASA Goddard Spaceflight Center until joining PSI in 2007. He is a member of the Geologic Mapping Subcommittee (GeMS) of NASA’s Planetary Cartography and Geologic Mapping Working Group.
