Conference organizer Paul Hardersen chats with Candice Hansen prior to her presentation on how citizen scientists benefit the JunoCam project.

PSI hosted the “Building the NASA Citizen Science Community” conference at the Hacienda del Sol Guest Ranch Resort in Tucson. The three-day event, organized by PSI Senior Scientist Paul Hardersen, attracted an international audience of more than 100 people.

PSI scientists offered three of the more than 50 presentations at the conference. Pamela Gay gave a talk titled “Better Engagement through Better Community: Lessons from CosmoQuest,” Candice Hansen spoke on “JunoCam: Citizen scientists populate Juno’s virtual imaging team,” and Eric Palmer discussed “PDS – Planetary Science Data – Where to Find It!”
