- About PSI
Thea Cañizo, Ed.D., was the middle school science specialist for TUSD from 2000 until 2008. She has over 35 years of teaching experience, from grades 3 through university programs. Beginning in 2001, she guided the middle school science materials adoption process for TUSD and designed and conducted professional development classes, study groups, and workshops for middle school teachers. In addition to her work for PSI, she is also an adjunct professor in K-8 science teaching methodology for Northern Arizona University and Supervisor for the Teach for Arizona program at the University of Arizona. Cañizo served as consultant for the initial Planets are Places Too workshops and will help to coordinate workshop development, assist in workshop design, and serve as the liaison between Project WISER and the Tucson Regional Science Center.
